He was in mourning I suppose, the events happen so fast you don't really get to see his reaction to most things. He was definitely crying after part of the building fell apart and a support structure broke alicia's capsule and crushed her body.
At the end they showed Alicia and Izumo's spirits kind of floating away as Izumo took his last breath. So next episode it's going to be amata vs. kagura.
The real tragedy here isn't the death of Alicia and Izumo, but that the only person Amata has that's left is Mikono now.
