A continuation of this story wouldn't be bad. I mean we get to see the Higurashi cast going through an apocalyptic world and finding a way to get by. That in itself could be pretty fun to see more of.
Though I still think the series could practically make a return with a season of slice of life episodes. The club activities with this group were usually a lot of fun to watch. Even without mystery or life or death situations it could carry on pretty well.
