The rest of it is nice, great level of detail (well, it's a PG...) and it looks as though it's based on the Akutsu design right before Okawara's animation clean-up.
I'm not too keen on the shield though, what's the point of having a broken shield? :P

Broken shield?
You mean that yellow spike that is in the middle and the gaps to its sides? Those tips look like they're meant to be planted into the ground to let the suit use it during ground combat. The slot in the top is for it to use to see out of; that is a silly design, IMHO.
