Lol School Days. While I admit the ending was disturbingly creative the general plot is just too silly to take seriously anyways. They might as well have just crapped on the keyboard. Shock value alone can't really carry something. With flat characters I couldn't care less about and the sorry attempt at a plot just really hampers any chance of effectiveness. Basically it does avoid some harem cliche but in heading off the other end of stupidity, it fails to do any real deconstruction. Not that they cared anyways.
It's simply pornography as in "having no socially redeeming value". Or ultimately, pornography without porn. Might as well made it a hentai; would have been better off that way.
But at least the OVA is amusing. Overall, I'd rate it 2/10; it's probably not the worst thing possible given what it did try to pull off; I mean it did pretend to be some crappy harem romance series at first and then suddenly off the deep end. Unfortunately, that's really all that they came up with. So now it's just a crappy harem romance series with a moderately ugly twist. Could have been good but mostly wasted. D- for (non)effort.
Well, it can also serve as a PSA for the many dumbass anime male protagonists lying around. Learn well, assholes.
