Well Erza was already S-class and much stronger than the rest pre time skip, so not that surprising that she could get by on her 7 years ago power.
Can you imagine Laxus getting 2nd origin? Maybe he would then be able to fight the other 4 "non-human" wizard saints.
And seriously how much strong is Gildarts if Laxus is this strong
