It was the Fuhrer's sword, though. One would assume they would make it out of the absolutely best material known to man or "Father", especially when that's his primary and preferred form of attack.
Besides, it didn't attack the tank directly, just the shells. Otherwise he merely dropped a grenade inside or stabbed through openings.
