if you've read the manga, with the exception of maybe a few bits and pieces of season 1, and like...the first 3-4 episodes of season 2, the Ikkitousen anime have never followed the manga anyway.

Dragon Destiny basically used scenes from the manga, though created their own turn of events for the end of the story. & of course it was thee manga material scenes for me that were the best in
DD.
& yeah i've heard that both have the same director, so i'm not at all worried.
