At least it came close when it comes to romance. Duel Monsters and GX wasn't even at that level. Though I wish more could have happened between Yusei and Aki in 5d's. I remember I was like "WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT?!?!?!" when I saw the scene Aki tried to confess to Yusei.
