He is probably a pragmatist since :

1. Consumerism in US can help generate greater revenue in sales taxes instead of regular tax, but it is highly volatile due to market swings and business cycles.

2. He recognised money talks louder than it seems in the US political world.

He may be a using the lobbyist weapons against them, but his methods will simply drive US deeper into plutocracy despite his good and down-to-earth intentions.

Most of all, you have to be disciplined and you have to save, even if you hate our current financial system. Because if you don't save, then you're guaranteed to end up with nothing.
