Yamato's such an awesome guy.
And Mei's got spunk (I like her style, too). It feels like she seems to be getting a lot more expressive lately. Worried bloodshot eyes, blushes, and all. I wonder when will we (and Yamato) get to see an amazing smile from her face?

Spoiler for ch 4:
In my opinion, Yamato was feeling extremely disappointed and not a little bit hurt by that Aiko girl. To me it wasn't the clingyness that's the problem, but how "easy" she was after he became popular. He saw a side of hers that really destroys her no doubt idealistic image in his mind and it probably really burned him even if he pretended he didn't feel anything.
I mean, if the first crush of my pure youthful innocent love just showed herself to be shallow like that I would be really hurt and I wouldn't be able to say anything either. Of course it's putting extremely high expectations on an unaware person and all but hey, it's a first love. If you didn't "fall for an angel" in your first love then you're just too cynical.
That, I think, made him appreciate Mei's honesty a lot more and probably permanently cut off any lingering feelings on his part and a potential love triangle. Kudos to the mangaka for that.
I'd really hate it if the cliché old flame plot ruin yet another potentially great shoujo manga for me.
