Key Visuals just make visual novels, I believe. Clannad, Air, Kanon, Planetarium, Little Busters and Rewrite are the works they have made. Also they are making a VN of Angel Beats.
KyoAni, P.A. Works and J.C. Staff are the ones in charge of making the anime adaptations of Key's Visual Novels. But, I'm sure Key supervises heavily how the anime studios adapt their visual novels.
