for
Episode 2-A Lonely Dog
:
This is another pleasure-to-watch series. All in all, a very nice episode.
The joke at the beginning with Souchi not wanting Ririchiyo to depart was funny. Poor girl can't even go to the restroom by herself without arguing with him. He really is like a golden retriever.
Sorinozuka is certainly a bro, and he likes being in the "cloth-monster" form and I guess he frequently spills things on himself with the curry and udon early and then the gravy at the end of the episode. And Riri, nobody is fooled by your "I was just practicing my handwriting" excuse, but it is adorable that you say it like that.
It was interesting to see Ririchiyo, Souchi and Sorinozuka go out shopping together. It gave the two guys a chance to work on their own "bromance" and for Sorinozuka to show his "bro"ness. He really is like her brother. It was nice to see her getting a cell phone too.
The
yuki-onna
agent again is hilarious with her constant yuri googles. I really love every scene she's in. Her comment later on when Karuta goes missing about worrying about Karuta being attacked by tentacle monster really made me laugh.
I didn't know there was a type of
youkai
that acted as a giant circular wall. Interesting how it is also compared with a dog. Then Ririchiyo showing her cool
youkai
form(although I don't know what type she is. Those ram horns are an interesting touch and the spear too)
And of course, Sorinozuka helps save the moment back at the mansion by saying that the welcome party is for Souchi too. Yup, having a bro like him around helps matters.
I also loved how adorable Ririchiyo was in her second-guessing in what she texted Souchi. It was a nice moment for her to try and do something for him. I can definately see this series being about her becoming more social and growing as a person, and she is certainly likable enough to want to see that.
I just love these characters, and I am eager to see episode 3 next week.
This episode gets a 9/10. The comedy is in the right places, Ririchiyo is a pleasure to watch, and the supernatural stuff doesn't overwhelm the ordinary human stuff in it, which is really nice.
