Why is Mei's eye over the rules? She has to have some connection with the phenomenon. So I'm expecting some revelation about that, too.

Referring to the part of your post that I put in bold.
You bring up a good point. Now it makes me wonder.. why does the phenomenon leave alone something that's potentially a threat to it like Mei's eye?
Hoping for a good conclusion to this series in the next two episodes.
