I agree with this. In fact, the simplicity (along with plot-holes, lack of logic, & rushness) of the overall story is what hurt shows like
Gundam Wing and
Gundam AGE the most. Aside from that,
Gundam 00 2nd season also turned into a fighting-shounen show with all those mecha power-ups and characters shouting catch-phrases, fancy lines, and "Trans-Am!" out loud
