Also, the original series had almost a dozen characters, so this should do fine. There's nothing wrong with some of them being from strikers given the development of events. Also the development we speak of is a random chapter, not novels devoted to a character, heh.
Besides that, I was thinking, if this series is anything like 'romance of the three kingdoms' there is an anime for said title out this season. might be worth watching to get up to speed on the plot line.
