I watched several of the episodes (11-13) after taking a break to recover
.. Watching the episodes all at once probably the reason why I did pick up something that indicated Mai is as acute as ever.

Last chance!
Spoiler for seriously, don't peek if you are a first time viewer:
The usual introduction to episode 12,
followed by Yuiichi's dream, and then Ayu's saying, "Ghosts show up whenever people talk about ghosts" - (translated by A.F.K)... We know from Kanon 2002 where are these hints pointing to. To a first time viewer, those scenes don't mean much until Mai says the following in episode 13, when Yuiichi asks if Mai could tell what Ayu might be looking for: "I can't tell you anything..." then after a follow up question from Ayu... Mai also says, "
Probably there is no meaning in me finiding it." Mai's ability to sense the supernatural has yet to loose a beat.
Up until now the show has constantly provided clues that mostly made sense to the viewer of the previous anime adaptation or the game players. This clue, however, is outright the most straight forward one in the show as of yet. I wonder how many first time viewer will be able to pick up and make some connections, such as what Ayu might be looking for.
A fairly new look of Naiyuki in episode 13 that I want to see more of in the future:
