FT has always been lower key on the big digit chapters than other series and his last series ended 4 chapters away from 300 when he could have easily dragged it out 4 more chapters just to hit the number.
However lets look at ch 100 Erza's "Death" where at the end she didn't and it was all power of Friendship, at ch 200 it was just a welcome home party for a character many still would have preferred stay dead, and now at 300 we get a communaction line with the long lost dragons. It's not epic like other series go out of there way to do (and often detrimentally to other chapters) but at least the plot is finally coming.
