Anemone is human and had that hair color before her transformation if we take the flashback at the Great Wall as true.

This. That is definitely a Quartz-removed Scub Coral under Gen Bleu that TheEnd is embedded in.
Oh really? I mean I know she started full human before becoming a test subject artificial Coralian. If that's the case I totally forgot that, I remember she still had the pink hair as a child but it's been so long since I've seen the series that I was thinking that that was because she'd already been experimented on. Her hair color still sounds like something that was intended as a link to her parents given the extreme rarity of non-naturally colored let alone pink hair in this universe.
Spoiler:
Skimmed the ep with one version while waiting for the other, I really like the ep itself however if there's not more to be revealed about Elena in the last 3 eps, which actually wouldn't surprise me if there is and there's still something we don't know, this would be my first actual letdown in the show over the 21 episodes which is ashame because if they'd kept that thread going I'd have loved all of this ep, I thought they had a perfect buildup with Elena being similar to Ao and linked to Eureka's time and/or connected to either Anemone, stretching it to Eureka's daughter despite the appearance or even at worst a surprise with a new human-form Coralian from either time. I guess I'll live with it especially if that's true about Anemone, since I enjoyed this ep with her coming to terms with it, but I'll be rather disappointed if her hair color was just a total red-herring given how rare "anime" hair colors let alone pink hair is in E7, just like how it felt totally right that everyone on Okinawa freaked out about Eureka and Ao's unnatural hair color. Other than that I liked the story of the ep and the action, so hopefully they can pull a comeback on this bit by there still being one more reveal about Elena.

I agree with this, I need to check on if we ever actually saw Anemone before she'd already started to have been experimented on, but with how specific it is that "anime" hair colors are extremely uncommon in the E7 franchise which continued to be a theme in the new show, it felt like something important from the start (and I guess it may still be if there's anything else about her in the next 3 weeks).
