Doesn't really matter in this context.
Removing a fan favorite from the main cast = automatic rage, especially if the target audience is prone to nerd rage, as is the case with anime fandom.
And besides, even if it did, Fatina's not really the "stand back and cast spells while everybody else protects you" type of mage, anyways. I'd classify her more as a mid-range offensive fighter with some support abilities and a few powerful and/or long range techniques that do require casting time. She has one weapon, and that weapon is capable of being used immidiately at short/mid range and is good for both singles combat and crowd control. I guess that you could call her a red mage of sorts, though she doesn't use a melee weapon and hasn't been shown to have healing abilities.
Its different from Melt's "stand at a distance and volley attacks at the enemy while everybody else keeps them at bay" style.
It wouldn't seem to redundant to have her and Melt in the same group.
