Well that would explain why Whitebeard is planning to attack Marineford in the first place (which is cutting it close for Ace) and also why 6 of the 7 Shichibukai (with Boa Hancock recently going there) would be waiting for him.
I have a feeling a different arc is coming: By the time Luffy defeats Magellan
and Shiryuu, Ace would be taken by Onigumo to Marineford.
Thus leading us to a new arc: Marineford arc.
