Yes, that's why it's a sequence of bad choices to cover bad choices.
'S' is just a label, he could call it 'A' or 'Z' and it wouldn't matter because the point is to show that Aria and the other named characters are just that
leet. But the problem with that is you'll have to make a threat that's viable against these
leet characters. Plus from a reader's perspective, there would be nothing special about the rank is everyone they meet is that rank.
