If this truly is one cour and isn't a complete adaption I'll be very sad.

It worries me, too. He has never done a show I liked. I know you disagree, but I think Shinbou does brilliantly well with Nisio, whereas Motonaga created something I found unwatchable in Katanagatari. Just boring.

I feel the complete opposite. I found Katangatari's directing beautiful and Shinbo's handling of Monogatari quite poor, especially in Nise. School Days was just a vile source ot begin with so I can't really say there was anything he did wrong there.
