Considering Guam and Tokyo's longitudinal distance, Amalgam's attack on the island should've happened when the sun is already up, not dawn.
If there is indeed a delay, that's weird on the storyboard part. The way scenes between Tokyo and Merida Island goes back and forth, the viewers get a sense that both events are happening simultaneously.
