I haven't seen chapter 3 yet but i got both the 3rd Movie booklet and the Story Digest Clear File and from just watching the pretty pictures i got some conclusions. These are for the purpose of discussion 'till we get to actually see these episodes and all are welcome to throw in your own ideas or, if you're lucky enough to have already watched this, correct them. Just in case, i'll use spoiler tags
Spoiler:
Episode 7:
Since the first 10 minutes are already available i won't go into those. The party seems to go on to a fairly wild level(the photo of Makoto in one of the previous comments seems to prove this. Another proof is that Nanbu ends the party passed out and with doodles all over his face. That's some powerfull spring water they have there. XD Scatered throughout the episode are scenes of the several goodbyes, Kato and his father, Nanbu with his father and (i assume) brother, along with another girl (pretty), Hirata and Shinohara seem to talk about their goodbyes. Kodai and Okita, having no one to say goodbye to, roam around the ship, Okita ends up in his quarters toasting with Tokugawa while Kodai ends up in the gun deck with Yamamoto, wich, apparently, is in the same situation. A pensive Yuki observes them before her turn in the comms booth. The person she chooses to say her goodbye to has brought back the suspicions that she might be Yurisha, since it's not her mom and dad (like in the original) but Admiral Hijikata. (Why didn't Okita call him, since they're so good friends?) Eventually the party comes to an end. We have the now famous scene with Yamamoto coming out of the shower while Makoto gets out of her maid outfit and Nanbu, as i said earlier, is fast asleep, over a table with paint all over his face (That Ota is a nasty bastard XD ). Yuki and Kodai meet in the observation deck where he plays his brothers harmonica and they say goodbye to Earth. The episode ends in a dark note with one last goodbye message... Kaoru talking to ex-leader of the Izumo project, Kotetsu Serizawa. From the look in her face, this can't be good.
Episode 8:
The episode opens with Gamilas celebrations, with a shot of Hilde Shultz among the croud. We are shown that Dessler doesn't waste time dispatching his drunk generals. In the Yamato Yuria is in the YRA station. In the Shuvalier (Shultz's Gaiderol class ship has thus been named), Shultz gazes upon his daughter's holographic message. The Yamato warps to Gliese 581. Okita is checked up by Dr. Sado and the good doctor doesn't seem pleased. Suddenly the Shuvalier attacks. A strange looking missile releases a gas that destroys upon contact. Okita order evasive action. In Gamilas, Dessler observes a live feed of the events. The Yamato dives into Gliese 581's fiery atmosphere, atempting to evade the gas wich they succeed in doing when the creature burns up. But a massive coronal ejection stands in their way. Unable to divert, they use the WMG to blast through. The Shuvalier, in pursuit, is not so lucky. With the image of his daughter welcoming him home, coronel Shultz and the Shuvalier perish in the fires of Gliese 581. Goer has to once again apologize to Dessler for this failure. The Yamato leaves the star system and Yuki is seen praying, perhaps for those who they defeated.
There is a scene of Dr. Sado pissed off with Okita during the dive into Gliese 581, probably because the captain is avoiding the issue of his current health state.
Episode 9:
YRA is up. From what i van get, Yuria reads SF stories on air, prompting some of those painting images seen in the trailer. In the lab, one of the Gamiloids is partialy operational and interacts with Analizer. Presumably this is Alter (previously Orta). The Yamato warps again (the warpout seen in the trailer). I thought the episode took place in the Gliese 581 system, since there was a red star in some trailer scenes, but from this we must assume it's simply another similar star. They did make an effort to make them slightly different from one another. More of those images in black and white are spread across the digest and Alter seems to be very atentive to them. Alter and Analizer seem to become friends of sorts. A Type 100 scout craft is sent out with Kato and Yamamoto but the boarding operation goes wrong and the craft crashes in the hangar. Enomoto is pissed at Iwata and Tooyama (seems they messed up in some way). Later, in the lab, Alter awakes and runs away prompting Ito to go on alert with his security team. Analizer tries to find him first and catches up to Alter in the main gun deck (red star in the background) but eventually Ito shoots the gamiloid. Sanada seems suspicious of the recent events (wonder if Kaoru had something to do with it?) As the Yamato flies away, Analizer stands in the observation deck, saddned.
Episode 10:
The Yamato's lattest warp seems to have gonne horribly wrong as the ship finds itself trapped in a dimentional rift, dubbed the Sea of Space Sargasso. Yuria has some sort of vision (seen in trailer). Engine power seems to be falling. Yamamoto remembers her brother giving her the pendant she wears. After managing to control the ship, Yamamoto goes out to investigate a signal. It's a Gamilas fighter. Eventually it's brought aboard. The crew is stunned when a beautifull red hair blue skinned woman is revealed to be the pilot. (It's assumed the device on her neck is some sort of translation device, so she can communicate with the Terons) Melda (the pilot) seems interested in Yamamoto's pendant (it seems Yamamoto is questioning her). Suddenly an aproaching ship is detected. It's the Meltoria. From just the digest pictures it's hard to make assumption about the Yamato's interaction with the Meltoria's crew but this seems to eventually tow the Yamato. They use the WMG in some sort of dimentional weak spot (i'm guessing), opening a passage to normal space. The Meltoria separates from the Yamato. Believing they have been betrayed by Melda, Yamamoto and her fight. Eventually Melda grabs the gun but returns it to Akira. Rang keeps his part of the deal releasing the Yamato, much to the distaste of Nerge. But Goer and his fleet have arrived and fire on the Yamato. The Meltoria does something to drive the Gamilas away, not sure what but ends up damaged or destroyed. The crew salutes them. And now they have a Gamilan aboard. What to do with her?
