As a strategy, what Archer is advocating has it's flaws. You already have the lolli gunning for Rin. It makes much more sense to form a temporary alliance to kill the major threat...then backstab your ally in the end.

It might not even be necessary, since Shiro would be willing to conceed victory to Rin.

So...does Archer have another motive to wanting Shirou offed? Either he's jealous of Rin's attentions toward Shiro or maybe he wants Saber? Hmmm...there's nothing in the rules against a servant to own another servant is there?
