Remember the true/Haruhi order of the anime series.
We have:
Episode 09 : Remote Island Syndrome I
Episode 10 : Remote Island Syndrome II
Episode 11 : ???
Episode 12 : Live A Live
Episode 13 : Day of Sagittarius
Episode 14 : Someday In The Rain
The true episode 11 has not yet been shown. I'm fully confident we would see more of Haruhi's character development in the final episode to end The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya season one.
So far, the anime has proven pretty consistent. For example, during Mysterique Signs (the true Episode 08), when Emiri Kimodori (the purported girlfriend of the Computer Society President) said her "boyfriend" family lives overseas, Haruhi responded by asking whether they are living in Canada.
Some people believe Canada is used because Ka-Na-Da is easy to pronounced in Japanese, but we begin to see that in The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya IV (the true Episode 04), Canada is the place of mysterious disappearances of family members, where Ryoko Asakura's father had purportedly transferred to.
