Hahahah... this episode is awesome, been a while since i had this laugh, ever since that cooking competition episode. I guess its the continuation of the previous episode, where they focused on the relationship development between Oreki and Chitanda. But knowing Kyoani (spare me from the novel tho, coz i didn't read it), this relationship will likely end with another
giri giri romance relationship...
- New Year episode... Chitanda invited Oreki to the temple's New Year festival, and wanted to show him her kimono.
- And then this and that... things between Chitanda family and the temple.
- Mayaka working as a miko, taking care of the lost and found things, as well as the fortune telling. Chitanda got herself a good fortune while Oreki got bad fortune.
- And Chitanda being kind wanted to help the miko doing works, but instead got herself and Oreki trapped inside a store house (i think?).
- Oreki was about to shout his voice out before Chitanda covered his mouth with her hand palm (ohh yeah score another point), saying that it might be troublesome for her if ever anyone from the temple found that she is alone together with Oreki inside the store house.
- Chitanda suggests that they can just use their cellphone to call Mayaka out, but both forgot to carry one with them.
- Then Oreki suggests that he can just break his way out, but again Chitanda is against it. But then i guess with Oreki's keeping energy mode, i doubt he could even kicking the door, digging hole or breaking the wall out.

Somehow he looks cool tho with that kick
- Looking from the small hole on the wall, they saw one of the festival worker picked a lost belonging, which reminded Oreki of Mayaka working at the lost and found belonging counter.
- Oreki tried to send message through Chitanda's handkerchief and his wallet, but with Fukube being together with Mayaka at the counter, their message is lost with the wind.
- In the end, Oreki, in his last attempt, used the secret message that he learned from a shogun TV show, with hope that Fukube might watch the show too, and understood the meaning of that.
- But in the process of making that secret message, they have to look for a rope... and Chitanda said that the string that tied her kimono's sash might be usable, but of course at the cost of...
- But then the way Chitanda expresses it after Oreki rejected the idea of using the sash's string is like... not sure... feels like part of her really wish to have Oreki taking that string from her sash.
- Next episode...
the case of handmade chocolate. I guess with Hyouka nearing the end of the season, i don't think this case would form an arc or something. Smells like Valentine if you ask me.
