Spoiler for iDOLM@STER GLOSSIA 01 - Inba Hinode, Man of Steel:
What's thin, white, and sits in front of the screen?
The obvious answer is "ME!" The answer relevant to this episode discussion, strangely enough, is also me.
This isn't Koihime/Milky Holmes like. The Producer character still exists. I have become him. In a very visual-novel-like way. Since Producer has less personality than your average VN protagonist (and less in the way of physical qualities), here he...or rather, we, exist as a floating collection of words at the edge of the screen and the edge of the camera, noticed by the characters, but not, in any reasonable sense, existing. (Okay, he does gain a voice and physical body at the end of the episode.)
Naturally, this means we're free to characterize him as we please. I will turn myself, for 25 minutes a week, into Hinode Inba, a shy man of steel who...yes, I know I previously mentioned my "rewatch XENOGLOSSIA alongside this" plan.
Anyway, the first episode was primarily a chance for us to get to know the (rather sizable) cast, but with so many episodes ahead, we'll get to know them even better. For I am, we am, become text itself. Who knew a storytelling technique previously only used in 18+ ero anime had a practical application in the mainstream?
