Whether the animation is better is up to you, but in my opinion the "average" has risen over time. The animation for some of the final arc battles and attacks has been pretty good, plus the animation for some of the "buildings"/"structures" (not to spoil anything, although it seems you're a manga reader), it very well done.
The magic circles are there, but toned down, I think.
