For not understanding much of anything, I can say I really enjoyed the ending. In fact, the only episode I can remember not being super pleased with was episode 13. I think it's been an awesome ride, and I've really enjoyed the show up to its end. If it does come on DVD in the states, this is something I'd actually purchase. Have to put that HD TV to good use somehow.
Spoiler for Ending:
Personally, the ending of this one reminded me a bit of the Lord of the Rings: Return of the King movie ending. It kinda extended the story more than some people felt like it should have--personally, I was all for it, and felt like it wrapped up everything nicely, and gave room for a possible second season, though it doesn't promise it.
Of course, like the Lord of the Rings ending, I can actually see people disliking it. I don't quite understand the reasons so much, as I love this type of ending, but I think I can see why people do in some respect. I just felt it was nice seeing the characters one more time before heading out--and we might not ever see them animated again. My favorite character still happens to be Tanda, though each character that's been presented to any extent, really, has been extremely likeable and well done. Though this show wasn't perfect, I highly enjoyed it. Probably give it somewhere (to be fair) around a 91-95/100 score. Even though my enjoyment of it probably has been full points. I'm also quite anticipating the second soundtrack that came out last week. I managed to listen to some clips of them that were on a sellers' website (an Amazon-like website) and I was quite pleased hearing the tracks. The music definitely has been top notch.
