I just finish the Maria ending (too sad) and I having one question; what is she exactly? I read through some of the after dairies and they are just not very helpful. I was wondering if someone actually figured it out or could atleast point me to a disscussion about it.

I saw an in-depth analysis of this ending at the G-Collections BBS once, which sadly has been purged now. Basically, it said that Maria was Mother Nature, and listed a few pointers to support that. One of them is how Maria becomes sick right after the nuclear accident you hear about on the news one day, symbolizing her connection with the earth. Another point (which might be a bit of a stretch, as it's used in many stories) is that it starts raining very heavily after you and Maria have a big argument later in the game, where she becomes very sad. There are other pointers too, but I can't remember them.
