The best thing about this week's episode was that we're one episode closer to Shippuden.
Short summary: Gaara's confronting the main baddie, who's suddenly calling all the weapons to him (from his fallen comrades). Gaara for some reason seems to be out of chakra (because of some weapon I suppose, becuase otherwise it makes no sense). If Gaara had some cool moments last week, there's none this week. He's defending himself with kunais(!) and even getting hurt (though he's still wearing his armor
).
Naruto arrives on the scene to help Gaara out (Gaara gets caught in a metallic sphere). Here it gets a little complicated. That baddie gets a tomb out and turns into another person somehow... He's then draining Gaara's chakra and/or trying to turn Gaara into Shuukaku.
What follows is a few minutes of standard filler Naruto throwing himself sencelessly at his enemy without any apparent sense of strategy. Episode ends with a halftransformed Gaara breaking out of his cage.
The identity of whomever the baddie turned into was the most interesting part of the episode, as it was the only thing that wasn't easily predicted or could be read out of context. Could he be the old sand priest?
Actionwise, the episode sucked though. Seeing Gaara having to resort to defending himself with kunais was just killing his character, and Naruto's braindead attempts to defeat the enemy were hardly impressing.
No pics this week.
