The official homepage for the Kuroshitsuji (Black Butler) anime franchise has announced that the series’ upcoming second television series will revolve around a pair of new, original characters: Alois Trancy and butler Claude Faustas, played respectively by voice actors Nana Mizuki and Takahiro Sakurai. The character designs for both new characters were drawn by Kuroshitsuji manga creator Yana Toboso, but neither character originates in the original manga. At least Toboso drew the characters... I can hope for some decent character designs, then.
But really, this is kind of upsetting. Studios rarely manage to pull off original stuff like this nicely.
