He was part of the animation staff team for Nintama Rantarou and Keroro Gunsou!! I used to run home after school to watch Rantarou so I'm biased I guess
. I didn't really finish Romeo x Juliet, but the few episodes I watched it was decent (couldn't stomach to finish it because I hate Shakespeare so much while studying him).
And it's always instant win that Hanamaru Kindergarten's chara designer's doing this, so the cuteness factor already can't fail. Diomedea's doing decent with Ika Musume at the moment too.
Finally, like you mentioned Shinobu has a foot in this so ... I'm totally getting my hopes up.
