Yeah, Vegeta's fights in general have been superbly paced, often finishing off an opponent within a single episode (aside from Goku, of course). They're really nailing it with the quick-strike action scenes...no unnecessary BS here, just relentless and brutal violence, thank you.

Well, DBZ didn't really invent that either...they're both parodies of the sort of
peking opera-style mannerisms. Despite being Chinese, my cultural knowledge is pretty pathetic, so it could possibly go back even further than that. But yeah, those type of poses/scenes aren't exactly rare in anime.
