heh. i still remember watching it, when i was a 12-13, my cousin had it on VHS, it was a fansubbed (something i realised now) and this was just after i watched Venus Wars. I knew it was Macross, yet it was so different! (no green blood! or the "cartoon" like animation)
it was just so...so..gorgeous... Macross plus really stands the test of time, a bit like Wings of Hommenise.
Glad i got the Directors Cut version box set, that had all the individual OVA's and the full movie. Personally i liked the Guld death in the OVA, more open ended. But at the same time, still like the movie version, if only because of Guld's sheer
