There's one thing this anime does better than just about any anime I've seen in a long,
long time.
And that's sheer, unadulterated
intensity. It's become a real "edge of your seat" anime for me.
Anyway, some more episode-specific thoughts below.
Spoiler for Kamisama Dolls Episode 5:
The action scenes in this episode were strikingly sensationally superb. A real treat for the eyes, and very suspenseful.
The brother vs. sister twins feud has loads of great potential too. I'm very interested to see how that all plays out.
I think it was a wise decision for Episode 5 to give us a break from Aki and Insane Girl. I hope we do get to see some more of the two of them causing chaos together, but I think that (temporarily) focusing on generally more sane characters helps to keep this anime's narrative a bit more "grounded", which in turn aids the intensity level for me.
Thus far, this is one of the best older brother/younger sister relationships I've seen in anime. Like I said after last episode, it's just so refreshingly realistic. I can totally relate to this brother/sister relationship. It reminds me a bit of my own relationship with my younger sisters, when I was Kyohei's age.
Anyway, Kamisama Dolls likely leaps into my Top 3 of the season with its last two episodes. Really looking forward to more.
