Oh definately in a character sense Shinji is a well written character, the way he acts and speaks, you wont get lynched for stating the simple truth
It's still hard to like him as a "person", still what I do like about Shinji's character is that lets face it im sure there are some of us that were atleast alittle like that in highschool. Not in the molesting girls sense but more like acting like you're better then certain people, making fun of someone for amusment/ to satisfy your own ego etc etc. Characters like this are bound to be hated because we see certain aspects of ourselves and/or other people that we do not like exaggerated.
Ofcourse I still hate Shinji and think he is still lower then dirt and deserves to rot in the deepest darkest pit.
