It's nice to see a different facet of Japanese culture, especially one that is so easily overlooked. I loved how this show established right of the bat that you shouldn't take it too seriously and knows how to play its audience.
Seitokai no Ichizon already showed that a show filled with referential humor works, even more so if you understand what they are referring to.
