Absolutely!
The structure of the contest positively encourages you to do so. There wouldn't be much point in getting a point for a really tough riddle that no one could solve, if you could only get that 1 point in total, because you'd never win the contest that way!

Basically it is just a mechanism by which we can give out prizes without having to ship money around. See Wikipedia's
Gift Card article for the rough idea of what I meant. If the winner can think of a better way of getting something of equivalent value I'd be open to suggestions.
