They're still better than Gern, whose only personality trait is talking haughtily, and has an indestructible weapon for no good reason. (And maybe not the other two, but I found Genievres genuinely interesting)
Though it may be true that given what he can do
, final villain's combat capabilities seem somewhat in the low side.
