Under the orders of 2nd Prince Schneizel, the Glinda Knights aim for St. Petersburg, where the European-district army is stationed. On route, they receive a rescue request from friendly troops while coming near Africa. Tension builds up in Oldrin, who is unexpectedly performing her first real battle.

According to the Akito website, Petersburg was a city that the EU lost to Britannia at the start of the upcoming OVA; since this occurs after that, I assume the city is still under Britannian control. (It's interesting to see how the two series overlap in ways like this.)
