It sounds like their relationship is not shown as intimate as in the game, which is okay (As long as the relationship was portrayed) It's disappointing about the other scene not shown, but I can understand because of they only have 25 minutes...

It has been a while since I played the game, but basically it went like this in the game:

There were a few times when Tomoyo went to wake Tomoya up in the morning, Tomoya would say "Tomoyo, let's break up" as a joke so he can go back to sleep. Tomoyo would be hurt and say "don't ever say that again"

But then Tomoya had to break up with Tomoyo, and he did it basically the same way. Tomoyo would go into denial mode for a bit saying "this is a joke... isn't it? Please say it's a joke!"

It basically adds to the sadness...
