Long as its a multi-vote poll I don't think its really a problem. Somehow just feel it would be a bit tragic for the leads to get no votes just so its more clear who the popular side-characters are. Combining will let you see the clear domination of the leads and still look a bit down to see how the sides are doing.
Anyways pretty comfortable with my previous list and if we want to add some volume 3 names then it can end up pretty good sized.
