Well without the help of the Grail and Excalibur I doubt Lancelot could have taken on Athena. Athena isn't just a Goddess of the Earth, she is the Queen on the Goddess. Little chance Lancelot could have won against Athena without any help. I find it very amusing that Guinevere downgraded herself as a servant of Steel, very sad for a Goddess to have no have pride on her attribute.
