sure, but AC doesn't use them for that(well, except for the top 2...). The espers aren't soldiers, so they're not really part of the science side's fighting power
and yeah, i can see a level 3 take on a scrub magician...then again, a perfectly normal, trained soldier with an assault rifle would probably outright murder the shit out of any level 3/scrub magician any day of the week, so yeah....
