This sequence implies something completely different.

Just like I said before, since there seems to be an inconsistancy in the translations, we would have to find raw Japanese scans to settle anything.

. What I got from it was that her division had not been incorporated into the Gotei yet so technically she wasnt a captain. She was however the leader of her division and soi fong her second in command but did not have the title of captain but thats what I took away.

It says right there, the two divisions got merged together. 2nd division was the militia, and covert was separate.

This Yoruichi thing is still going on. No one knows if Yoruichi is a shinigami or not, being part of special ops doesn't mean she isn't a shinigami. No where does it say you have to be part of Gotei 13 to be a shinigami
After all Ichigo is a shinigami now, and he's not part of the Gotei 13
Also, in the picture where Yoruichi and Urahara was training together, Yoruichi clearly have a sword with her.

Okay, I've got a few questions about the story...
Hell
Plus spirits are sent to SS, and slain hollows are also sent there, after beeing purified, but there was this one hollow, who was sent to hell... now how does "hell" fit into it? When the Quincys were introduced, it was told, that there is a balance between the souls in SS and the human world and the Quincys were disturbing the balance by destroying souls... but what about the souls which go to hell? Aren't they also lost?
Soul Society's aging
Shortly after Ichigo's group arrive in soul society, they meet with the boy which was a bird before, and they are told, that those ghosts who arrive in SS stay the way they were, when they died, forever and they won't age... also they get to know, that those pople create Fake families to compensate for the "real" (humal life's) ones, they can't find.
Now a few episodes later we see flashbacks of several people in SS who obviously aged, like Rukia and Renji, and there also seem to be real families, like the noble clans, and the Shibas, which seem closer than a fake family.
So if they age, there are obviously other rules applied then for those ghosts like the bird-boy.
Is it possible, that those people are able to reproduce, and the ones ageing are simple the ones who were born as babies into SS?
Hiding a Shinigami
Ever since entering the city of the Shinigami I was wondering, why everyone immediately identified Ichigo as one of the Intruders, since he obviously doesn't only look like a Shinigami, but also has their powers.
So I thought maybe they can feel somehow that he is an intruder... but what do I have to see: Inoue and Ishida prevented themselves from detection by putting on Shinigami's clothes!!
So how can they be able to decieve the guards, while Ichigo who basically IS a Shinigami wasn't?
Plothole?
The hidden trainig room
Yoruichi rescues Ichigo from Byakuya and both went to the underground training room... shortly after, Renji arrives there for his own training... Now I wonder: Wasn't this room supposed to be hidden and shielded? How could Renji find them there and more importantly: If Renji was able to find them, why was nobody else? After all they are still the intruders and have to be arrested.
Death in Soul Society
Are Shinigami really able to die? We see them slice each other untill they loose tons of blood, they get stabbed and the clown guy even gets blown away his whole torso... but all of them recover in less then a day.
Why do they even try to kill each other, if it obviously doesn't have any effect at all?
And if there is a way to kill, why don't they go for a sure one?
Aizen's victory?
Do you think Aizen really got the real device, he was looking for? Actually he was very well informed, knowing that Ichigo's group will come to the rescue and that Urahara helped them and all, but on the other hand... Urahara isn't stupid also... he was in contact with Rukia for nearly the whole time, she was on earth (2-3 month), so couldn't he just have replaced the original one by a faked one?
Okay, it wouldn't really make an interessting story if after this long arc the bad guys suddenly just got a dummy, but it's frustrating enough, that all the bad guys got away without even suffering a loss.
Speaking of Aizen's group: I wonder why the clown-guy wasn't a part of it... he seems to be interessted the most in wierd experiments.
Unlimited Power??
Aizen said, that by becoming a hollow, the Shinigami is able to surpass his limits... Now does it mean, that those beeings have no limits at all ("hello, boundless ridiculous powerups"), or is it just, that those beeings have much higher limits?
BTW, hollows and Shinigami both are originally human souls, so shouldn't the combination become human also?
Return to the human world
Wasn't it suspicious, that there were flying some kids and a strange old guy around in mid-air on some sort of carpet? And why did Urahara know the exact place and time to wait for their return?
And about Kon: Why (and since when) was he in Ichigo's body? Ichigo left his body under Urahara's store, and everyone thought, that he was on some sort of journey.

Soul Society is a somewhat buddhist interpretation of the afterlife, a place for souls to rest until they reenter the cycle of reincarnation. Hell, on the other hand, is a Christian interpretation of death, once you go you don't come back. Presumably the only souls that go there are the ones that the person/persons (whoever that might be) in charge do not want returning.

So if they age, there are obviously other rules applied then for those ghosts like the bird-boy.
Is it possible, that those people are able to reproduce, and the ones ageing are simple the ones who were born as babies into SS?
This debate is ongoing, but I for one don't think babies are born into SS. You call them "fake families", but if you live with and support each other for a couple hundred years, I imagine a pretty good bond can grow. For that matter, very few families in this world were born that way. Husband and wife, at least, have to meet each other somewhere and develop that connection, and despite the TV dramas, most adopted children receive as much love as if they had been born to that family.
Anyway, as for aging, the simplist answer seems to be that, like eating, only those with sufficient spirit energy are able to pull it off. Even then, time still seems to be a factor, and even then, there seem to be some inconsistancies. Basically, shinigami can grow up, whether they do or not seems to be a choice of the character designer more than anything else.
Plothole?
Ichigo's energy is supposed to be massive, so it may just be that he shows up on everyone's radar, whereas Ishida (with his containment glove on) and Inoue don't resonate as anything more than normal troopers, and so aren't really noticable. You'll notice that whenever they run into a seated officer or Captain, the deception is immediately dispelled. Yoruichi might be noticed, but she's a stealth expert already, and Ganjyu is never very far from Ichigo. That just leaves poor Chad, whom you may have noticed has to deal with it in his own way.
I wondered about that too. My guess? The shinigami know about the room. When Yoruichi and Ichigo head there they've already struck a deal, of sorts, with Byakuya, and so pursuit might have been relaxed enough that they could be alone for a while. It might also be that Renji just found out about it somehow. Or it might be a massive plothole.
Captain Unohana's Ban Kai seems to be able to heal anyone who isn't completely dead to full recovery, given enough time. When in doubt, you can always trust some mysterious power to save the characters. Yeah, it's a dues ex machina, but really, would you rather have every get killed?
Aizen's victory?
Do you think Aizen really got the real device, he was looking for? Actually he was very well informed, knowing that Ichigo's group will come to the rescue and that Urahara helped them and all, but on the other hand... Speaking of Aizen's group: I wonder why the clown-guy wasn't a part of it... he seems to be interessted the most in wierd experiments.
I could turn out to be wrong, but the fact that Rukia still hadn't recovered any of her powers was proof that the device was real and working as intended. As for Mayuri (the clown-guy), he doesn't generally seem to care enough to get involved in all the politics. He'd probably be interested in seeing how Aizen's experiment turns out, but I don't think he'd be willing to go through all the subtle scheming involved to pull it off himself.
As far as anyone can tell, the result of the hollow/shinigami combination experiment is Ichigo, who is, as you say, a human. For more than that, you'll have to keep reading the manga, since they haven't really talked about it yet.
Most of Urahara's toys seem to be undetectable by normal eyes. Maybe people who can see spirits could spot them, but they've probably seen weirder. Plus, you'd be amazed how few people ever look up. As for Urahara knowing, it looked like they were on the lookout for the general time, but the place was unknown, hence the bizarre cannonball-style entrance.

Hell
Presumably the only souls that go there are the ones that the person/persons (whoever that might be) in charge do not want returning.Hm, interessting, so you ssume that there is "someone in charge"?
However it doesn't really answer my question: The souls going to hell are lost, aren't they? So shouldn't it disturb the balance?
Soul Society's aging
This debate is ongoing, but I for one don't think babies are born into SS. You call them "fake families", but if you live with and support each other for a couple hundred years, I imagine a pretty good bond can grow. For that matter, very few families in this world were born that way. Husband and wife, at least, have to meet each other somewhere and develop that connection, and despite the TV dramas, most adopted children receive as much love as if they had been born to that family.Actually, since there are definately characters which are aging, I see no reason to disbelieve that there can be born babies. Only those, who are born can age, while the ones, which were sent into this world remain like they are... does at least make a little sense this way.
Hiding a Shinigami
Ichigo's energy is supposed to be massive, so it may just be that he shows up on everyone's radar, whereas Ishida (with his containment glove on) and Inoue don't resonate as anything more than normal troopers, and so aren't really noticable. His energy may be huge, but the point is, that it's still a Shinigami energy, while Ishida and Inoue's aren't. And since they are able to decieve the guards by just putting on the proper clothes, I think Ichigo should be able to do the same.
The hidden trainig room
I wondered about that too. My guess? The shinigami know about the room. When Yoruichi and Ichigo head there they've already struck a deal, of sorts, with Byakuya, and so pursuit might have been relaxed enough that they could be alone for a while. It might also be that Renji just found out about it somehow. Or it might be a massive plothole.Hm, the most likely choice would be, that Renji accidentialy found the room in the past and just went there, because he couldn't finde them anywhere else. It's hard to believe, that the rule-abiding Byakuya of all people should accept them training, if he knew where to find them. However, it seems to be hidden pretty bad if it can be found, regardless of how Renji did it.
Death in Soul Society
Captain Unohana's Ban Kai seems to be able to heal anyone who isn't completely dead to full recovery, given enough time. When in doubt, you can always trust some mysterious power to save the characters. Yeah, it's a dues ex machina, but really, would you rather have every get killed?Actually, I really think a few dead would have made the story more believable and more interessting.
And especially the actions of the characters are kind of strange... how can they talk about "killing" their enemy, if they don't really do it (knowingly aren't able to do it). If I want my opponent dead, and I know that he can brought back from certain wounds, then I would avoid this kind of injury and instead aim for a target which assures me a certain kill. For example when Aizen "killed" Hinamori and Hitsugaya, while knewing that Unohana is going to appear shortly after, he should have been more accurate in his killing.
Aizen's victory?
I could turn out to be wrong, but the fact that Rukia still hadn't recovered any of her powers was proof that the device was real and working as intended.Like Zoe already wrote: The thing which prevented Rukia from getting back her powers was the fake body, not the device planted inside her. And after the return to soul society she was put into this energy absorbing tower... It looks like captains are really hard to kill, if they are first put into this tower for 30 days and then striked with the power of 1000 swords.
However, the device was supposed to convert between Shinigami and Hollows and the questioon remains: Was Urahara careless and let the real device inside of Rukia, despite having the chance to replace it by a fake one, or did he hide the original somewhere else?
As for Mayuri (the clown-guy), he doesn't generally seem to care enough to get involved in all the politics. He'd probably be interested in seeing how Aizen's experiment turns out, but I don't think he'd be willing to go through all the subtle scheming involved to pull it off himself. He shouldn't really have done much anyways, since Aizen was doing all the work... it's just that I think it would really fit his character to be part of the plot, and so far there isn't really anything militating against it.

Hiding a Shinigami

It is important how strong Ichigo's energy is. Ishida and Inoue have a normal level of energy. If you passed them in Shinigami clothing you'd think something like, "hmmm.... strangers. Haven't seen them around before? I guess they're just not that noticable." On the other hand if someone saw Ichigo, they'd think, "Holy Shit! Who the hell is that monster!! Even if I hadn't seen him before, surely I'd have at least HEARD of someone like him!" His level of power is unheard of for anyone who isn't a captain. If he isn't one of the 13 captains or at the very least, one of the 13 Vice-Captains, then you'd know he was a stranger.

We know that Ichimaru saw Ichigo at the beging saw Ichigo so everybody should know that red haired kid with giantic sword is a drifter but also they had information about Ichigo fighting menos grande (and Ichimaru might know it from both sources (Shinigami and Hollows
))... of couse Ikkaku might don't know exacly how Ichigo looked like because he was slacking off (or something like that)

by being a mix of hollow and shinigami Ichigo has much spiritual power but most important is that when he is fighting as a hollow he doesn't fell pain and can't show his 100% even at the edge of dead which is something that Ken-chan might not be able to do... but as we know only shinigami that was mixed with hollow is that strong not in reverse

After re-reading the manga, it looks like Renji just traced Ichigo's energy to the room and broke into it (big explosion at the entrance).
There are two things to consider here:
1) Not all of the captains, much less normal shinigami, have met Ichigo yet and therefore wouldn't know to trace his specific energy (remember, only high-level shinigami can do that anyway).
2) Even though Byakuya is law-abiding, he seemed to have accepted Yoruichi's conditions. He certainly could have tried to follow her, and probably could have caught them. But he didn't, and he lost interest in everybody else on the bridge.

It has to be shielded... doing the Ban-Kai training is probably like a beacon... the energy must be felt miles away, if it's done in an unshielded place.
2) Even though Byakuya is law-abiding, he seemed to have accepted Yoruichi's conditions. He certainly could have tried to follow her, and probably could have caught them. But he didn't, and he lost interest in everybody else on the bridge.I still think it's out of character for him... he is such a pighead concerning the rules, that he is even willing to kill his "sister" if necessary... at least until the end of the SoulSociety-Arc.
Come to think of it: Renji didn't really have a reson to search for Ichigo in his situation. On the other hand, he just escaped from confinement and was in need of a place to hide and do his training. I guess the most likely scenario is, that he knew the room from the past and didn't know that Ichigo would be there.

Don't the Shinigami's usually have something like Rukia's glove, or Urahara's stick to remove the soul? Why should they need candy? Besides, I don't think that this much Shinigamis are living in the human world... they only have to use a gigai, when they lost their powers, which shouldn't really happen this often.

Just my theory.... but is ichigo... something like half hallow... half death god? Based on the anime, and how that mask saved him at crucial times.... that theory wouldn't be so farfetched, eh?

Do you really want your theory to be answered? As soon as you click on the spoiler tag below, a bit of magic and mystery will be removed from the Bleach world. You'll never again be able to wonder, guess and make theories. Instead you'll be chained by knowlege of what is actually going on.
Yes.
Of course everyone suspects it, not just you. The real question is what does it mean to be a hollow/shinigami combo? Now you can start to make theories about the meaning of it. Just don't ask about it here since the rest of the answer is not yet known.

why did Byakuya showed so much hatred toward Kaien's clan?
when Ganju said he was a Shiba, Byakuya just lost it.
could it be that losing to a mongrel of a hollow (kaien) was dispicable? lolz

I don't think it was hatred... to me it looked like respect. When Ganju said, that he is a Shiba, Byakuya basically accepted, that he is a strong opponent and therefore should go all-out, out of respect.

I don't remember when they mentioned it, but apparently the Shibas are a former noble clan that have fallen out of favor. I guess they haven't fallen completely out though, because Byakuya still responds to Ganjyu as if he was a fellow noble and therefore worthy of respect.

Really? Can you give me the chapter, or the episode where this is mentioned? It's the first time I read this... must have missed it.
I thought Kaien was a guy from the slums, who made it Shinigami through hard work and brought the fame to the Shiba-name.

Someone talks with Rukia and tells her that Ichigo resembles someone.
Which episode is it and who tells that to Rukia?
One more question : in episode 32 we see Rukia and Ranji when they were young and they're growing. I thought that in soul society people don't grow?

I think your talking about around Episode 17-ish, where Byakuya says something along the lines of "he does look like him." or something like that -.- They never say the name though.
~
As for the second question:
http://forums.animesuki.com/showthread.php?t=34920 *nods* i think that might answer it.
~
Now..quick question by me, what's with Renji's head-protector thing? When he's not wearing it, he has something tied there, so what? Is he embarresed about his forehead or something?
Also, what episode was it that Ichigo was being beat up, and chad steps in to help him? I think it was in the beginning of the anime.

Could someone please give me a run down on Uhrahara's backround story. Since the show may end before it gets explained in great deal. I'm only asking cause I'm only following the show and not the manga. Oh and don't worry about spoiling me, I don't mind. Thanks

I'd rather that nobody answered this question in detail here, even in spoiler tags, because it is simply too huge a spoiler! It gives away almost everything. You'll hear the answer before the arc is over, so don't worry about the show ending first.
Let's just say that he used to be a Shingami Captain, but he left because of a difficult situation.

does anyone have a link to that clip (which seems to be from the anime) that shows ichigo vs. (you know who) about to use ban kai... the music in the background of the clip/preview is from the beginning theme of the current bleach episodes and only shows what seems to be clips from the anime and no clips of actual game play. i believe it was for a preview of the psp game or the ps2 game. i tried searching but couldn't find it at all... THANKS!

Look its not really a spoiler, if you actually pay attention, you'll see by watching the ending theme for ep29.
Only captains have the white coat and in the 12th division ending, you see that Urahara has a white coat with the word 十二 on his back which means 12 in chinese/japanese, you should be able to figure it out, I'd rather not directly say it since I'll get banned

Kenpachi has become one of my favorite characters after he fought Ichigo.
I'm curious to know if he will get to release his soul slayer in the future? Haven't read any manga, just all fansubed eps so far. Just a simple yes or no would suffice. Thanks.

As the divisions {number wise} increase do the captains get weaker? For example, is the Captain of the 7th division stronger than the 13th division captain etc. etc. Or, does each division just specialize in a certain area?

The number of the division are not related to the strength of their captains.
Some of the division are based on specific area, but not all.

Hitsugaya's sword design looks like a No-dachi (
