That one guy
|
Spoiler for stuff:
It was pretty much evening when Lyon came to. The lighting was no longer from the windows, instead the fluorescents over-head were providing the light.
“So it's night?”, the injured boy wondered to himself. He moved a bit and felt pain stab him in the flank, but a lot more dull than before. “Seems that cold medicine is still working.”. He grunted at the pain as he forced himself to get-up. As much as he wanted to stay and rest till he didn't feel like a hundred knives were being stabbed into him every time he took a step, it was late and the school infirmary didn't include dinner on their list of services.
The school uniform was still on him so he only had to look for his shoes. Now only if it didn't hurt to lean down.
“Oh you're awake!”, the dividing curtains were pulled aside by a young woman. If it weren't for the uniform white coat, Lyon would have mistaken her for a student as well. She was that young. The pineapple knot she wore did not help the image, neither did the baby face with the sparkling brown eyes.
'She's really shining.', Lyon sat on the bed, not sure on how to react to this person that he didn't recognize. The usual doctor was male and was often annoyed at how much Lyon was always in the infirmary. This person...
“Oh right! You must not recognize me, I'm the new nurse for the infirmary. My name is Todoki Matsura. I'll be filling in for Oota-sensei since he's pursuing further studies.”, she introduced herself with a bow.
'So that's where shaggy bones left off to.', the infirmary regular thought to himself. “I see, nice to meet you Matsura-san.”, he bowed a greeting, but his bow stopped mid-rise when he felt a chill running up and down his spine.
“If it wouldn't be too much trouble”, Matsura spoke with a voice that would have been mistaken for a ghost. “Please never use my full name ever again.”. The cold air suddenly turned warm again as she continued cutely, “Please refer to me as Ma-chan, Matsu or Tsura.”.
Lyon stared at her as if she had a few screws loose. “Umm... if I may ask... what's wrong with Matsura?”.
Once again, the air temperature dropped a few degrees and the nurse was giving Lyon a dead-eyed look. “Please think about it a bit more. Matsura... Matsura... Ma-tsu-ra...”.
“Kinda sounds like a guy's name.”
“RIGHT!?”, the nurse stormed into his personal space, leaving their faces less than an inch apart. “Don't you think there's something wrong with naming your daughter Matsura? I mean there could've been a lot of other cuter names like Akkiko, Misaki, Touko. I wouldn't even mind unisex names like Akira, Mutsumi, or something else. But why Matsura!?”
Unsure of what to say Lyon could only agree, “I guess...?”.
Dubiously.
does it feel forced?
