Aiko has given hints but also has sent mixed signals. She treated him to lunch in episode 4 but then said she was worried about him as an "older sister" and he was like a younger brother to her in that scene. I agree, Aiko's hints are mixed signals, though Shin should have noticed that Aiko is cold to Nobuse.
On the other hand, Aiko is kind and enjoys being together with him (Shin).
