Well he might go with saving Maria since he never had any close conection with her in his world. He never knew his grandmother.
There are like two options: first is that killing Maria would erase everything related to pandoras and novas therefore it would erase the tragedies but this would also lead to killing Kazuya. Since his main reason of existance was that his mother was jelous of Casandra and had no connection with Kazuha. So she got pregnant to hold her husband with her. With no pandoras there would be no jelousy so mostly Kazuyas existance would be not needed. So killing Maria would erase all pandoras and Kazuya himself along with this whole fight.
Option two would be that killing Maria would result earth losing the pandora power and no way to fight and stop novas invading earth.
The only way is to save Maria who might also be the one to be able to send Kazuya back to earth. Kazuya just needs to stop holding back and just embrace his nova nature and awaken his whole power.
